An anchor for release
Ironically, we often need to be tethered to something in order to let go.
Today I am serving up a comfort sandwich in the form of one of my favorite prayers.
What’s that? You don’t do prayers? Honey Bun, that’s totally OK. If you sense there is something just the teensiest bigger than you in this world, or if you know there is a part of you that is your greatest good, or if you think Mother Nature provides a freaking miracle every day when you spot a bug on a leaf of grass then you might like this collection of words that I call a prayer, you can call it whatever you want.
On the other hand, if you don’t really feel any of these things and think prayer is likely ridiculous, or you don’t want to read anything by an author who calls you Honey Bun, I lovingly suggest you cruise around Substack and find a different writer who provides the content you are looking for because I’m likely not it. There are so many amazing writers here.
This releasing prayer, by the author Tosha Silver, has been an anchor of mine for many years. I use it whenever I am gearing up for a change in my life or there is a habit I am struggling to shift. Sometimes I sit quietly with it when I don’t really know what is going on.
I relied heavily on these words when I was preparing myself to quit drinking. Did they help? There is no way of knowing for sure but every time I read/said them they felt like a balm to my soul and I’ve been sober for years, so I count both of those as a win. I no longer use this prayer all the time but I do I tend to lean on it when I need specific help.

Let me release all that is outgrown and align with the Divine for the highest unfolding. The perfect routes are already selected and will unfold naturally and easily.
Let me know my true nature as Love.
Divine Beloved, change me into One who easily releases all that wishes to go. Let me move with courage and ease.
As I stand on the threshold of the new, let me trust that all that needs to happen will happen in the most uplifting and joyous ways. What is needed is already known. I will be guided, shown, and provided for in every way.
All is well.
What sort of thing do you use as an anchor to help you feel better or create a shift? Is there anything you know you want to release? I am working on releasing my resistance to moving forward with my work here (more in that below). Drop me a comment, I’d love to hear what is helpful to you or what you’re working on.
As you go through this week may you move with courage & ease, may you release what is no longer serving you.
xoxo Donna
Quit drinking in 2015. Life moving upwards since then. Clearer, purer, lighter, closer to my true nature which is all of life🌅
Oh I love this 🙏🏻 I’m working on showing up and growing into my best self, with love, patience , presence, curiosity and my healthiest body, mind and spirit.
