Hi Everyone! To feel centered I have many tools, and I am currently using them all. Singing, baking, getting outside, grounding, salt soaks, various exercises, red light therapy, massage.....all self care is good care! And yes.... cheering on the Olympic athletes and relishing in a sense of pride when my country does well....and let's face it....just getting there is incredible.
Thanks for sharing theses great tools Adele. Baking can be such a creative and grounding process for some people (not me!), I'm always interested when people turn to it to unwind. Maybe there is such a thing as the Unwinding Anxiety Baking cookbook! If not then someone should write one!
Yes, getting to the Olympics is such an achievement. Like all of us in the valley I know you're cheering on your lovely neighbor and the rest of our kids🍁
Yes, she always knows. The animals are the wise ones. I used to love to pet my cat too and now I love to pet my dog. Thank you for taking the time to share this Michael💕
Thank you Donna. Your words and example are always so grounding. You help bring us back to the here and now. To what we can control. And you do it so gently.
Also, I freaking love that Martha Beck quote!
One thing I do is pat my cat, Nyx. The cute bugger curls up in the crook of my arm and it’s like a nod from him (and the universe) to put my phone down and just be with my cat. :)
Nyx is such a great name for your beautiful cat! I agree about that quote from Martha Beck. I believe so many bigger issues in our family, community and world could be helped by improving our skills of personal reflection. It is important work, as you know💕
I turn to G—d. I feel terrible for the Jews in CAN and around the world. My son lives in a town that is known to be anti semitic. All I can do is trust in G-d. Bitachon.
Thanks for these words to brighten my day. The Olympics are helping me feel relatively normal too. And second to Adele's many tools in my back pack too. I also always read my positive by design daily emails ( TUT by Mike Dooley etc) and listen to positive podcasts such as Mel Robbins. I had a social media holiday in Jan and loved that too. Todays wonderful event was the seed exchange at Groundswell, another hope, community and garden building time well spent. And I hope I get tasty tomatoes out of some new seeds soon to start.
These are great tools Heather and I know you take a lot of time for personal reflection and growth. The seed exchange is such a wonderful example of hope through community and connection! Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts, it means a lot❤️ I am glad my words added a little light to your day.
I light candles in my little closet nook to center myself. I love the Olympics but totally forgot to watch this weekend. Thanks for the post and the reminder! ♥️
I use candles too. It’s an interesting thing that they can help us feel better. I don’t know about such things but perhaps it’s something to do with our prehistoric brain and the light? Yay! I’m glad I reminded you fo the Olympics Rosa. Thank you for being here❤️

When I am overwhelmed with emotion, I pet my kitty. She always knows and come to me to say "Hi. It will get better!"

Evie was the mastermind behind Nyx’s name. I just came up with his nickname— Nicholas, which funnily enough is longer than his real name. :)
Being with all my grandsons this weekend was exactly what my heart needed. They bring such joy and love. ❤️
Oh my gosh, yes! I can imagine that would be the best thing ever. Enjoy every moment with them Kim❤️

It is the best direction to turn, not only when we are feeling stressed and horrible but all the time. xox💕
