Hello you sweet soul,
What’s that, you’re not feeling sweet and you can’t find your soul? Read on Dear One, you have landed in the right place!
I’m Donna and I’m very happy to meet you. I am here to guide you closer to your best self. I know the term ‘best self’ probably makes you want to gag. I get it, it’s been overused! And yet…it remains the center that only you can find, the thing that guides all other things, therefore it is beautiful and sacred.
Discovering the essence of ourselves is a journey that takes effort so it’s helpful if we have a bit of a map. I write The Bright Life to offer heart-centered ideas to help us heed our inner wisdom and provide evidence-based tools to follow it.
Join me here if you
struggle with trying to micro-manage every little thing and it’s stressing you out,
don’t have the energy to change anything,
don’t know what to do, even if you did have the energy,
feel like everyone else has it figured out but you,
you don’t want this year to be like last year.
This publication may not be right for you if
you want black and white ideas
improper grammar irritates you
words like Honeybun and Sweetie don’t fit your consciousness
you are not interested in personal growth
you feel that a higher power, or something bigger than us that science does not yet understand, is hogwash.
I have a loyal following of amazing readers (I HOPE you become one), here’s what some of them say:
“I support your work because you are authentic in your approach to life, you live with integrity, and are a beautiful human being.” - Ruth Z
“Love your work and I could use some familiar and long-trusted wisdom.” - Cassy C
“I simply got hooked. I engage in a lot of self-discovery and personal development work with some well-known teachers and mentors. I think you, Donna, hold your own space and offer something I can really benefit from and, at the very least, enjoy greatly.” - Adele E
A sample of what you will find
a series about how to create meaningful change that moves us closer to wholeness, this is an essay from that series, TIPS TO ELEVATE YOUR ENERGY
guest posts such as this, FAITH, how spirituality affects my mental well-being
advocacy for living a sober life (something I did not always do!), MY SOBER LIFE
imperfect video presentations that contain a lot of info such as this one on MINDSET
Coming up…a mini-series going deeper into resistance, the cultural myth of living with purpose, comfort vs discomfort - how they are both amazing, a lot more on letting go of control and other juicy stuff to help us reach deeper.
5 things about me
I’m a partner with my husband in a private, wellness-based chiropractic practice, we’ve been married & worked together for almost thirty years (!!!), we have two sons who are now adults, and by a miracle of genetics they are both much taller than us (which is not saying much for me);
I identify as a river person (also she/her) because that’s where my soul lives, my people are mountain people who spend their time hanging off the sides of them, we are thankful to live in beautiful British Columbia, Canada
as well as working with the neuro-musculoskeletal system in my professional work I have spent years learning the soft sciences of how the mind-body-spirit connection works, all of it is important for our well-being
I love science and also believe there are things science does not yet fully understand, many of which can be very helpful in our daily life
after years of feeling run down with low energy, my mission is to feel good as I go through my day, I love to share what works for me which is why this newsletter is called The Bright Life
I want you to know how much I deeply appreciate it when you support my work with a subscription, it truly means the world to me! If you’re interested you can do that HERE. YOU are the reason I love this work and I enjoy hearing from you in the comments of a post, or feel free to reach out by email, donnamcarthur@substack.com.
Remember Hon, pressing the like ❤ button is like giving me a hug (or a thumbs up for you non-huggers). Thank you for being here, you’re awesome!
